College & Career Planning
Our college and career planning program is anchored in dual priorities - college access and college persistence - that stem directly from the to-and-through-college nature of our school's mission.
To that end, we begin by providing holistic supports that build toward success in the college application process.
COLLEGE COUNSELING
- Regular 1:1 college counseling sessions
- To refine a strategic list of schools
- Identify and apply for free visits to prospective colleges out of state
- Complete all stages of the application process
- Wraparound financial aid application support
- ACT prep and Senior Seminar courses in 11th and 12th grade
- An opportunity to participate in at least 3 college visits in every year of high school
- Past trips have included visits to the following campuses:
- Louisiana: Tulane, Loyola, Xavier, Dillard, UNO, Southern, LSU, Nicholls, ULL, Southeastern
- Mississippi: Jackson State, Millsaps, Southern Mississippi
- Alabama: University of Alabama, Auburn, Tuskegee, Birmingham-Southern College
- Georgia: Spelman, Morehouse, Emory, Agnes Scott, Clark Atlanta, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)
- Florida: Florida A & M, Florida State
- Tennessee: Vanderbilt, Fisk, Rhodes
- Texas: University of Texas-Austin, Rice, Texas A & M, Southwestern University, Trinity University, Texas Southern
- Past trips have included visits to the following campuses:
